DAVID RADOMSKY

David, who has an MA with distinction from the University of London, is an independent educational consultant. With teaching experience in this country and abroad, David was the Headteacher of a large maintained high performing comprehensive school in London. David leads inspection teams as an accredited Lead Additional Inspector in Section 5 and Section 8 (OFSTED) as well as Section 48 [denominational] inspections. David works for three Local Authorities as a SIP [School Improvement Partner] in thirteen schools, six Secondary and six Middle schools.  He facilitates, coaches and assesses on national leadership programmes including the National Professional Qualification for Headship. He designs and delivers INSET at schools, works with Senior Leadership teams to review their Self Evaluation forms, helps prepare schools for inspections and trains Governing Bodies.

 

JENNY FRANCIS

Jenny started her  teaching career as a secondary mathematics teacher and progressed through  to headship .  She now works full time as an independent consultant in a range of  activities.  She is a  SIP [school improvement partner], having worked with 10 schools across four local authorities.   She also enjoys facilitating  and coaching on National Professional Qualification for Headship, Tomorrow’s Heads and Leadership Pathways  courses as well as contributing to the portfolio of course offered at the LCLL [London Centre for Leadership Learning]   In addition to this work she remains a lifelong learner. Although already holding a PhD she  undertakes research with the National College  [of School Leadership] , has recently completed masters level study into  coaching and mentoring, a series of doctoral level studies in leadership and regularly attends conferences and other learning opportunities, including leading a British Council trip to Colombia. 

RUSS LAW

Born in Bow, Russ started his teaching career in Yorkshire – Castleford, Leeds and Bradford. Educational travels took him back and forth between the UK and the Middle East, and he eventually became head of a British international school for 1500 students of 60 nationalities, from early years to IB Diploma level, in Saudi Arabia. 

He received an MBE in 2004. Since 2005, he has been facilitating, assessing and coaching in all elements of the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers and Leadership Pathways. He was Fellowship Coordinator at the Centre of Excellence at the University of Surrey, interacting with enlightened teachers in higher education as they spread good practice of the kind that is still more familiar at primary and secondary level. He has coached over a hundred individuals in their professional careers in education, and has recently joined Chalk Mountain Education and Media Services as an associate and coach.

Having graduated from Leeds University, Russ obtained an RSA Diploma in TEFL to Adults, and completed an MA in Education (Curriculum Studies) at the Institute of Education, London. Subsequent qualifications included the NPQH and a Graduate Certificate in Education Leadership and Consultancy. 

Russ has thoroughly enjoyed working as a Development Coach for two years with Teaching Leaders.
 

ROZ CAUGHT

As an independent consultant, facilitator, trainer and leadership coach Roz works with individuals and teams towards the achievement of their team and personal goals.  She began her career teaching English and PSHE and worked in four London LAs and progressed through to Deputy Headship until taking a secondment to initiate a pilot CPD programme for the DCSF.  Roz developed this into a national programme which she lead for six years before taking up the role of Director of CPD for a network of academies.Roz is a certified coach and member of the International Coaching Federation.  She is a mentor for Coaching Development’s certificate course and is undertaking her diploma.  Most of her work as a trainer and facilitator is with middle and senior leaders in challenging circumstances wishing to improve their effectiveness.  She is also an associate of the SSAT.

RICHARD TOWNSEND

Richard is an accredited leadership coach. He has worked on national programmes and in many international contexts in education and beyond. Richard was born in London and spent much of his career in leadership positions in challenging inner-city schools. He was one of the subjects of a BBC programme on successful middle leaders, and his last school as principal was named London School of the Year. In 2004 he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award. Richard graduated from Cambridge University with an honours degree in modern languages, followed by further study in London and Paris.

 

 

LINDA POWELL

Linda started her working life as a researcher for the National Environmental Research Council. She decided that teaching would be a preferred career, and has been in education ever since. She had a number of roles in comprehensive schools in Hertfordshire and London, including Head of Science, Year Co-ordinator and Deputy Headteacher. She was also the Headteacher of secondary schools in Haringey and Newham. Between these headships, she was Deputy Director of Education and Chief Advisor for primary, secondary and special schools in Enfield. Currently a facilitator and coach, she works on a number of National College programmes, including NPQH. She has also been involved in the training and assessment of school improvement partners, and acts as a SIP in London. She is also an OFSTED inspector.

 

ANDREA SMITH

Andrea has had a long career teaching in London, the West Midlands and, for a short time, in the Middle East. Latterly, as a longstanding member of the Senior Leadership Team in a North London Comprehensive School, she held responsibility for 14 – 19 curriculum diversification, and for the expansion of post-16 provision, both within the school and in collaboration with other local providers and HE institutions. She has enjoyed all the challenges and opportunities that her career has presented, and remains committed to the idea that every young person, given opportunity and guidance, has the potential to succeed. She graduated in History from the University of Wales, completed her PGSE at King’s London and studied School Development to Masters level at the University of London.

 

RICHARD SUTTON

Richard has had 22 years of experience in school leadership in both 11-18 and 11-16 schools. As a middle leader he was a subject leader and Head of Faculty. Richard has been engaged in senior leadership since 1998 as a Deputy Headteacher in two schools and a Headteacher in a third school. In addition to working for Teaching Leaders, Richard is a qualified and practising Ofsted inspector as well as staff trainer. He gained a SIP accreditation in 2007 and this supports my additional work as an independent school improvement adviser.

 

MARY WILLIAMS

Mary has 25 years experience as a middle leader and Deputy Headteacher in comprehensive secondary schools in London. Her past experience also included 4 years in a Local Advisory service as an English and cross-curricular literacy consultant and Secondary Strategy manager. Mary's first degree was in English and Educational Drama and her Masters was in Secondary Literacy.

Since 2006, Mary has been a full time Education Consultant specialising in interim leadership in secondary schools, leading improvement and innovation in learning and teaching, middle leadership development and coaching. Mary also facilitates on the NCSL Middle Leadership Development programme and in the last year she has coached middle leaders in 5 London schools.

 

COLEEN JACKSON

Coleen has been working in education for over 35 years, as she started teaching when she was in 6th Form and continued to return to her school to teach in the holidays whilst at college and university. Within her first year, Coleen was promoted and held middle leader positions in two schools for 9 years before becoming a deputy, then Headteacher in schools for 15 years. for just over 10 years, she was Deputy Dean in two universities. Now, Coleen has her own international education consultancy and works with governments and schools in several counties, developing policy and designing leadership programmes. Her coaching experience has spanned almost 40 years in schools and business and has ranged from sports to executive coaching.

 

CHRISTINE DRUMMOND

Christine has worked in schools in London, Buckinghamshire and in service children's schools in Germany. She was a Senior Leader in a challenging schools, where she had responsibility for improving teaching and learning. Christine has also worked as a Local Authority advisor, leading groups of teachers in action research and developing school improvement groups.

Christine graduated from Sussex University with a degree in Developmental Psychology and completed her PGCE at Leicester University, following this with further study with the Open University.

 

PEG HULSE

Peg has worked as Headteacher for 5 years at a girls' school in Buckinghamshire, and for 8 years as a Head in Portsmouth. Before that, she was a Deputy Head in Northampton for 5 years. An English teacher for many years, Peg has taught in West Yorkshire, Sussex and Stoke On Trent, and in all her posts enjoyed the opportunities to work with pupils on drama productions, school magazines and even some sports teams. Her school became an Academy on 1st August.

 

GILL SMITH

Gill moved to New Zealand in 1974 and completed a BA course at Auckland University. After graduating, and 2 years running her own business, Gill rediscovered her passion for literature and completed a PGCE. This resulted in a teaching career spanning over 30 years, where she has worked with teams committed to improving the life choices and chances of young people.

 

PENNY TODD

Penny is an experienced and enthusiastic teacher with a credible background holding senior positions in a wide variety of schools, ranging from a comprehensive school in Hillingdon, to a highly performing grammar school. Her roles include Head of Subject, Year Leader, Assistant Head and Deputy Head in charge of staff and student welfare. Currently the Acting Headteacher in the Virtual School for Children in Care she has 7 years experiences of supporting and promoting the achievements of children in care. Penny believes that coaching is not only about fulfilling goals and desires, but is fundamental in raising awareness both of self and also of our surroundings.

 

STEVE WELDING

Steve currently works as an independent consultant and spends 2 days a week supporting the leadership team of a large and successful secondary school in Suffolk. During his 32 year teaching career, Steve held a variety of middle leader roles and has been a member of four very different senior leadership teams. He was also head of an 11-18 comprehensive school in Hertfordshire for 7 years.

As a facilitator, Steve is involved in a wide range of programmes developing teaching assistants, middle leaders and headteachers. As a coach, he works iwth a diverse range of colleagues from emerging middle leaders to trainee headteachers. In all of this work, whatever the programme or the role of the participant, Steve's emphasis is always upon enabling colleagues to make a real difference to the quality of teaching and learning in their schools.

 

ANDREW NEWTON

Andrew taught for 27 years in 5 schools in West Yorkshire and Cheshire. After 6 years as head of a Maths department followed by 16 years as a SLT member, Andrew became an independent facilitator and consultant. He has facilitated over 30 groups on the Leading from the Middle programme. Coaching has formed a large part of his work over the last 7 years and, in addition to being an NPQH coach, he has run coaching development courses for middle and senior leaders. He has also worked with a number of schools in developing their curriculum and writing their timetables.

 

ANNA COOPER

Anna started her career as an English teacher working in Trafford, Salford and Brent before moving to Cheshire, where she eventually became a Headteacher. Her school was a Mentor school for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust and Anna was a consultant Head on the Raising Achievement Transforming Learning programme. She won a Teaching Award - Distinction, Secondary Headteacher of the Year - in 2007. On leaving Headship, Anna has worked as a SIP and as a consultant on Greater Manchester Challenge programmes. She worked in 8 authorities on a range of programmes, including coaching, for primary, secondary and special school staff.

Working as a National Strategies consultant she delivered a curriculum development project as at residential special school. She has worked with the National College as part of the writing group for NPQH assessments and as part of the team working on system leadership.  Anna currently works as a facilitator for NPQH, and regularly works in schools in Cheshire and Stockport to help raise achievement in English as well as prepare for Ofsted and middle management development.

 

MORGAN WALLACE

Morgan has 18 years of experience in school leadership in 11-18, 13-18 and 11-16 schools, ranging from Bristol to Middlesborough, in roles inlcuding Head of Upper School, 14-19 Curriculum Coordinator and Deputy Headtecher. His past experience also includes 6 years as a Head of Department and 5 years in a Local Authority advisory service. Morgan was appointed Head Teacher of a large 11-16 specialist Sports College in 2001.

In addition to his school leadership role, Morgan also chaired the local Secondary Education Improvement Partnership, leading on a number of collaborative school improvement priorities. He also represented secondary colleagues on the School Management Forum, the Area Education Partnership and the 14-19 Strategic Steering Group. Morgan gained SIP accreditation in 2009 and since leading Headship in April 2010 he has been a full time Education Consultant, working mainly as a Leadership Development Advisor with the National College's "Tomorrow's Heads" programme. Based in North Yorkshire, Morgan currently works across the Northern region, coaching and mentoring participants in secondary, primary and special school settings as well as facilitating and delivering leadership development programmes.
